The Gimnasio de las Ideas (Plaza Séneca) hosted the One Health Alicante event, a meeting promoted by Alicante Futura and Impulsalicante that brought together experts and institutional representatives to discuss the main challenges of the future in health, the environment, innovation, and quality of life, among other areas.
The initiative, promoted under the umbrella of the Local Development Agency Impulsalicante, aims to create a space for dialogue and collaboration among professional experts from various strategic fields such as health, water, the environment, innovation, and tourism, to study how to address the next key challenges in Alicante.
During the event, the Councilor for Employment and Economic Development, Mari Carmen de España, highlighted the importance of addressing the relationship between people’s health, the environment, and the city model in a comprehensive manner. She emphasized the need to align Alicante’s urban strategy with that of Spain and Europe.
Throughout the meeting, key issues related to Alicante were addressed, including climate, water management, the environment, sustainable tourism, community well-being, quality of life, technological innovation, data use, and urban governance.
Also present from the Alicante City Council and Impulsalicante were Vicente Seguí, Director General of Employment, Development, and the New Economy, and Elisa Díaz, Head of the Employment and Development Department.
The expert advisory group comprised professionals from the Alicante City Council specializing in various strategic areas, as well as representatives from the business community and Alicante-based organizations such as the Alicante Official College of Physicians (COMA), the Water and Energy Hub, the Aitech Hub, the Health Hub, HOSBEC, APHA, INVATTUR, Costa Blanca, and ISABIAL, among others.
This meeting is part of the initiatives undertaken by Alicante Futura to consolidate Alicante as an innovative and strategic city focused on improving the quality of life for its citizens.
