The software and applications testing company DXC sets up in Alicante

The multinational technology company has established operations in a building of more than 8,000 square meters in Polígono Babel, where almost fifty professionals are already working, although the forecast is to reach 120 people on staff by the end of the year, and to reach 200 in the medium term.

The company DXC, whose main client is Banco Sabadell, is working on two main lines that will be developed from its new headquarters. On one hand, the ‘testing’ of applications, that is to say, the realization of the necessary tests to make sure that the software developed by a company works correctly; and, on the other hand, the ‘legacy transformation’, which consists of the update of old applications that no longer meet the current requirements or have become outdated, through the use of ‘low code’ programming, as explained in the news collected by ALIA from the digital edition of the Diario Información de Alicante.

Although the opening will take place in the coming days, the multinational is already working actively, especially in the testing of APPs, a service that has been awarded for the next five years, along with Accenture and NTT Data, the contest organized by Banco Sabadell, for which part of the team already working for DXC comes from the bank itself.

The head of the company, Manuela Esclapez, has explained that this service is one of the “most demanded” within the technological sector at present, for which the company already has requests from another ten potential clients.

In the news published by Información, it is explained that DXC Technology is the company that was born after the spin-off of HP’s technology consulting branch and its merger in 2017 with the also North American CSC. Globally it already has more than 130,000 workers and a turnover of more than 17 billion. In the case of the division in charge of the Iberian Peninsula, there are already more than 7,000 employees and more than 500 million in turnover.

As regards the search for talent, the multinational’s objective is to combine experienced professionals – some of them have been in the sector for 25 years – with the incorporation of young people from training centers in Alicante, for which it has already signed agreements with the University of Alicante and several secondary schools in the area, and has established relations with the Miguel Hernández University, the CEU and the EDEM Business School.
