This recognition consolidates the Alicante-based startup’s position as a European leader in clean hydrogen solutions for logistics and mobility, and it will now represent the region in the 2026 global final.
The Alicante-based startup Hydros Power, linked to the University of Alicante’s Science Park, is located in the Príncipe Felipe Municipal Incubator and Business Launch Pad. This space and ecosystem, managed by Impulsalicante, the Local Agency for Economic and Social Development of the Alicante City Council, has established itself as a benchmark in innovation and technological development, helping to boost the creation and development of companies in our region. It belongs to the Alicante Futura territories and currently hosts around 10 innovative companies, reflecting its commitment to public-private collaboration.
Hydros Power has been named the best Greentech startup in Southern Europe at the Global Startup Awards 2025, one of the most prestigious competitions in the global entrepreneurial ecosystem, with a presence in 154 countries and 19 regions.
This recognition consolidates its position as a leader in clean hydrogen solutions for logistics, urban mobility, and industry, and will allow it to represent Southern Europe at the Global Grand Finale 2026, the global event that brings together the most innovative startups from each region.
On September 26, the Mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala, visited Hydros Power’s facilities, accompanied by the Councilor for Employment and Development, Mari Carmen de España. During his visit, he highlighted the startup’s role as an example of the new business fabric that is driving Alicante’s technological and sustainable transformation.

The company has been recognized for its comprehensive and modular approach, capable of eliminating historical barriers to the adoption of green hydrogen. Its technology, based on plug & play capsules, compact charging stations, and hybrid fuel cell modules, allows for the decarbonization of sectors where batteries are not viable, facilitating the practical, economical, and scalable use of hydrogen.
Hydros Power has validated its technology in real-world environments, including pilots with long-range hydrogen drones and a pioneering project to fuel refrigerated containers. The company also has received recognition and investment from entities such as the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), as well as various national and European innovation awards and seals.
The award reinforces its mission to establish a new standard for distributed hydrogen in Europe, advancing the commercialization of clean solutions for logistics operators, industrial companies, and public institutions.
