Alicante, a finalist for the New European Bauhaus Awards with La Marjal Floodable Park

Alicante continues its run for the New European Bauhaus Awards (NEB) with La Marjal Floodable Urban Park as one of this year’s finalist projects.

The nomination highlights a space that combines sustainability, water management, inclusion, and urban design, and has become an example of how nature-based solutions can be integrated into urban development.

To bring the nomination closer to the public and generate spaces for reflection on sustainable urbanism, an urban exhibition has been open to visitors next to La Marjal Park since September 10th. The exhibition explains how this site works and its connection to other European projects recognized in previous editions.

Furthermore, on September 16th, the Water Intelligence Center will host the strategic co-design workshop “La Marjal: Sustainability, Inclusion, and Beauty in the Future of Water,” which will bring together professionals from various sectors, representatives of the Public Administration, and members of the Alicante community.

The final decision will be announced on October 15th in Brussels, when the winning projects for this edition will be revealed.
