Representatives of the Local Development Agency made an institutional visit to the renowned South Summit fair, a global open innovation platform that connects startups, corporations and investors, with a focus on creating business opportunities and held in a convention center in Madrid. The objective of this visit was to promote interaction between the educational community and the business sector, in addition to fostering the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the field of technology and innovation.
The meeting consists of a series of conferences and panels on various topics with world-class experts in each area, a marketplace area (where the different companies show their products to the public), training workshops, and personal meetings between investors, startups, corporations and institutions that request them.
The delegation was led by the Councilor for Promotion and Employment, Maria del Carmen de España, accompanied by technicians from the Local Development Agency, as well as the technical team of ALIA, the Investment Attraction Office of Alicante.
During the visit, they toured the different stands of the fair, where the latest innovations in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, virtual reality, biotechnology and renewable energies, among others, were presented. The representatives had the opportunity to interact directly with the exhibitors, learn in detail about their projects and establish possible collaborations to promote development in the city of Alicante.
In addition to the exhibition of projects, several conferences and round tables were held, where experts in innovation, sustainability, technology and entrepreneurship shared their knowledge and experiences. It is expected that this experience will promote the generation of new strategic alliances and contribute to the strengthening of the technological ecosystem of the city of Alicante, promoting innovation and economic development.
