After placing among the six semifinalist cities in Europe in the previous edition, this year’s proposal goes further, expanding its scope to represent the L’Alacantí region and the Alicante-Elche functional area.

This Wednesday, July 15, the Mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala, met with the President of the Provincial Council, Toni Pérez, and the mayors and representatives of the municipalities in the metropolitan area. They highlighted a cohesive territory committed to innovation and with a shared vision for the future.

This candidacy reflects the strength of the environment in which universities, science parks, technology centers, companies, and institutions collaborate to attract investment, retain talent, and generate new opportunities for the region.
